Green Health Week Nature-Connection Activities
Mindful Photography
The idea behind this invitation is to look for things that you would not usually notice and photograph them. This can help you make a conscious decision to look for beauty in the world and become more mindful of your surroundings and more appreciative of the wonders of nature.
Insects
Insects can be a hard one, but it teaches you to sit still! If you watch for plants or other locations where insects can commonly be found, and then sit as still and quiet as you can next to it, after a little while the insect stop seeing you as a threat and will often stop by long enough to photograph them. If you have a ‘Macro Photography’ lens or setting for your camera this can help.
Trees, Flowers and Plants
Try photographing tree or shrub leaves, or flower petals close-up. What do you notice about the leaves that you have never noticed or acknowledged before?
Please feel free to share your mindful photos on our Sit Spot and Nature Connection Facebook page.
